# Deploy Laravel on your own server

Push a Laravel app and Railpack builds it on FrankenPHP, runs your migrations and serves it, on a server you own.

## From repo to live in three steps

1. Connect the repository that holds your Laravel app.
2. Railpack recognises the Laravel project and builds it into an image.
3. Push to the branch: every push builds and rolls out a new version.

## What Deplo sets up

- Recognised from the artisan file at the root.
- Composer dependencies installed, and config, event, route and view caches built at build time.
- A package.json gets its frontend built too, Vite included.
- Migrations run when the app starts; RAILPACK\_SKIP\_MIGRATIONS turns that off.

Deplo builds with Railpack by default, so a Laravel project needs no Dockerfile to get started.

### Which PHP version runs?

The one composer.json asks for, 8.4 when it says nothing. Versions from 8.2 on are supported.

### Are PHP extensions installed?

Yes: every ext- entry in composer.json, plus any you list in RAILPACK_PHP_EXTENSIONS.

### Can I run the database next to it?

Yes. Managed databases live in the same environment and reach the app over the internal network.
