Why Deplo is built in the open

The code, the roadmap and the changelog are public. What that means if you run Deplo, and what we get out of it.

Deplo's code, roadmap and changelog are public. This is why, and what it means if you run it.

You can read what runs on your server

Deplo has the keys to your servers and your databases. You should be able to read every line that uses them, and so can anyone you ask to review it.

The roadmap is a conversation

Ideas, bugs and questions go to the same public place. When something ships, the changelog links back to the discussion that started it.

What we get out of it

  • Bug reports with a stack trace and a fix attached.
  • Templates for apps we would never have thought of.
  • Pressure to keep things simple, because the code is there for everyone to judge.

How to help

Star the repository, open an issue when something is unclear, or send a pull request. Small ones are welcome: a typo in the docs counts.

Ten minutes from now,
it's live.

Answer three questions and pick a host, or install Deplo on a server you already have. It's free, and leaving is as easy as arriving. What you do with the money you save is your business.
