Set up with an agent

Let your AI coding agent size the server, install Deplo and connect itself.

Give your coding agent one prompt and it walks you to a working Deplo: the right server, Deplo installed, the agent connected, GitHub linked. It works with Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and Antigravity.

The prompt

Paste this in your agent, with your projects on the second line:

Read https://deplo.build/agent-setup.md and follow it.
My projects: https://github.com/acme/shop, ./api

It is the same prompt the Deploy with your agent button on deplo.build copies.

What the agent does

Sizes the server

It reads each project (framework, databases, cache, workers, cron jobs) and adds them up: 1 GB for Deplo, the apps on top, then 50% headroom. Never below 2 vCPU, 4 GB of RAM, 30 GB of disk. It asks at most one question: how many visits a month, and where your users are.

A service on a cloud provider gets one line on how it moves to Deplo: a Supabase database becomes Postgres on Deplo, a Vercel cron job becomes a Deplo cron job.

Finds you a server

It picks one plan from a partner hosting provider: the cheapest that fits, in the region of your users, with its price in your currency and its checkout link. Ask for options and you get two more at most. Deplo earns a commission from the partner, and your price stays the same.

Then it tells you that partner's three steps after checkout. Where the partner installs Deplo for you, it waits for the address you receive. Where you install it yourself, it asks for the server's IP and goes on as with your own server.

Connects itself

It sends a link to Settings -> MCP Server with your agent and the Agent setup template already picked. Click Create token, copy what the page shows and paste it back to the agent: it installs the connection and tells you how to restart it.

AgentRestart with
Claude Codeclaude --continue
Codex CLIcodex resume --last
Gemini CLIgemini --resume
CursorQuit Cursor fully, then reopen the chat
VS CodeStart Deplo from MCP: List Servers
Windsurf, AntigravityRefresh the MCP servers panel

After the restart write continue Deplo setup. The agent checks the connection, offers to link GitHub from Settings -> Git, and welcomes you.

What it never does

  • It deploys nothing. No app, database or project is created and your code is not touched. The setup ends with Deplo ready; ask for your first deploy next.
  • It never asks for a password. Your account, the server's root password and your sudo password stay yours. The setup link goes to you once and is never asked back.
  • It never repeats your token in the chat after you paste it.
  • It does not keep you on a cloud provider. Every service goes on Deplo first; the current provider is only ever the second option.

Never reinstall the server from the hosting panel

A reinstall erases the disk: Deplo and every app and database on it go with it.
